From a convention: a dozen to two dozen large totes, key chains, flash lights with a screwdriver, plastic carry bags, pens and dental floss. When I told one man at a booth that the bags were for kits for the homeless he grabbed a handful, about a dozen. Other booths let me take a few of the totes, several pens and a few key-chains. Another man at a booth gave me a few dozen plastic bags.
The people that I gave them to liked the totes, the flashlights with screwdriver, but the item the men asked for were the key-chains.

FIVE Dollars- Challenge
I made out a check for $5.00 to the Maryland Fuel Fund (Fuel Fund of Maryland, Inc.) Maybe, it isn't that much, but it is something. Shall anyone match it? Can you match it? Turn my small $5.00 into $10.00. That's how it starts. The Fuel Fund of Maryland, Inc.

91 degrees out today
What can I do to help someone out in the heat? Can I contribute to the Maryland Fuel Fund? May I donate to Our Daily Bread? What will you do today to help the homeless?
...Your Donation has a Powerful Impact
The Fuel Fund of Maryland helps avoid homelessness, because nonpayment of energy bills is the number two reason people lose their homes. We promote safe homes, because without access to energy, families often try makeshift means to heat and light their houses, which oftentimes proves fatal. And we help children stay in school. The greatest tragedy of evictions caused by utility turnoffs is that children not only lose their homes, they also lose their schools, teachers, friends and neighborhood support systems. ...fuelfundmaryland.org Maryland Fuel Fund
